Abuja bomb attack tiny incident – Shekau

Date:

Abubakar Shekau, leader of the extremist group Boko Haram has dismissed the deadly attack on the Nyanya motor park which he has taken responsibility for as a “tiny incident”

Shekau, in a video released on Saturday, claimed responsibility for the Nyanya bombing which according to official figures left more than 75 people dead, injuring hundreds.

Shekau, who appeared in the video, wearing military attire, with an AK-47 rifle across his chest, boasted about the proficiency of his group and the vulnerability of the Nigerian nation to his group.

He described the Nyanya blast as “tiny incident”, which according to him does not merit the global condemnation that it has generated, adding that it was just the beginning of more attacks on the nation.

Shekau ridiculed President Jonathan in the video, saying that his group has been within Abuja, yet they can never be found.

“Let the world know that we were responsible for the bombing within Abuja in an area called Nyanya. (President) Jonathan you are a lame duck. Jonathan, you are now too small for us; we can only deal with your grand masters like Obama the president of America…even they cannot do anything to us… we are more than them,” he said.

“Yes we did it, we carried out the attack because you kill Muslims in Plateau, you kill Muslims in every country of the world. Why don’t your global tyrants talk when Muslims are killed in Afghanistan? Why don’t you talk when Muslims were killed in Iraq? And they are still being killed. Why don’t you talk when Muslims are killed in the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria, and now Yemen, Mali, Azerbaijan, Shishan, Pakistan?” he questioned.
