Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State has kicked against three percent (3%) Petroleum Industry Bill PIB passed by the National Assembly for oil host communities.
He argued that five percent on oil derivation demanded by Southern Governors is not too much considering the devastating effect on members of such communities.
The Governor stated this while fielding questions from journalists at the El-Amin International School,
2021 graduation ceremony to mark its 22nd Anniversary in Minna Niger state.
Governor Udom lamented that three percent is too little considering the risk and hazards members of oil producing areas are subjected to in addition to numerous challenges confronting members of oil communities.
In same vein, Governor Udom charged Nigerians to vote for the main opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the general elections.
