Why Super Eagles players perform below expectations – Balogun

Date:

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Glasgow Rangers defender, Leon Balogun, has revealed the reason players in the national team are not living up to the expectations.
Born to Nigeria father and German mother, Balogun made his debut for Nigeria in an international friendly against Mexico in 2014.
In a short video clip made available to BSN Sports, the former Brighton Hove Albion player revealed that poor welfare, infrastructures are reasons invited European based players performed below expected performance.
He said, “When people are asking whywe are we not living up to expectations, we have to be honest, adequate infrastructures are not being provided.
“It starts with pitches, accommodations and all that, they said I’m outspoken, if they hear what I said, they might come after me but I don’t care because, if we want to next Messi, Ronaldo etc come out of Nigeria, we have to make the best possibilities like we have in England and other countries,” he said.
Balogun has appeared in two major tournaments for Nigeria’s Super Eagles: Russia 2018 World Cup and 2019 African Cup Of Nations in Egypt
