Northern entrepreneurs advised to embrace non-oil sectors ventures

Businesses entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria have been advised to embrace non-oil sectors to enhance the socio-economic development of the region.

A Kano-based entrepreneur Honourable Mustapha Khabib asserted while speaking to the media in Kaduna yesterday.

According to him, 88  different stones for decorations have been discovered in Nigeria with sixty-eight of them in the Northern part of the region

Khabib who is the Managing Director of Dutse Granite Nigeria Limited disclosed that plans are in top gear by the Company to commence exporting what he called Dimension Stones to other countries in the world.

some Northerners are showing lukewarm attitudes towards business documentation which according to him is causing serious set back to such businesses.

Honourable Mustapha Khabib further advised people in the North to avoid the unnecessary opening of petrol support um Filling stations, instead,  venture into businesses that could improve their economy and make them self-dependent.

He then Commended  NEXIM Bank for its invaluable support to Granite Nigeria Limited.

The industrialist however called on Northern elites and wealthy individuals to assist in the revival of the collapsed industries in the region.

He disclosed that  the Dutse Granite Nigeria Limited has engaged some business partners in Ghana and is expected to further explore and expand its business frontiers.

Honourable Mustapha Khabib who pointed out that the stones are also used in modelling tiles for home decorations, helped in generating employment for the youths, as well as boosting the economy of the nation.

He added that the Dutse Granite Nigeria Limited has also signed a memorandum of understanding MOU with an Indian based firm to continue to enhance its activities outside the shores of Nigeria.
