New Paris Saint-Germain attacker, Lionel Messi said he joined the France Lig One giants to win trophies.
Messi’s 21-year stay at Barcelona came to an end officially on Tuesday after he was unveiled as Paris Saint-Germain player
The 34-year old completed his move to PSG on Tuesday, after signing a two-year contract. The Argentine will wear jersey number 30, his first number at Barcelona.
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner had officially been a free agent since July 1 after he failed to agree terms over a renewal before his previous Barcelona contract expired on June 30.
“I’m very happy. You all know how my exit was from Barcelona, it’s been a very hard moment after so many years,” Messi said on his first press conference.
“But, the moment I arrived here I felt very happy and I want to begin the training sessions and I want it to be quick. I’ve really enjoyed my time in Paris since the first minute, my only will now is to begin the training sessions and work with my teammates.”
“I would like to thank the club and the president for the way they have received me since the first day.
“They really were quick in their negotiations and it’s been quite easy actually. It was not an easy situation but they did it well.”
“I want to keep winning titles and this is why I’ve come here to this club and I really want to make that happen.
