The Education Secretary in charge of the Local Education Authority (LEA) in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mr Mamman Musa, has said that the teachers’ are paid promptly every month.
The Education Secretary made this known in an interview with Peoples Daily correspondent on Tuesday in his office in Gwagwalada, saying that his administration would remain committed to the welfare of the teachers.
He noted that the teachers employed by the LEA are productive, pointing out that his leadership would continue to pay the teachers’ salaries and other staff.
He said his administration would not hesitate to arrest some pending problems affecting teachers in Gwagwalada and its environs in terms of their welfare packages.
He also said he would continue to give priority attention to the promotion of the teachers, pointing out that many teachers were promoted last year, adding that some of the teachers are expecting to write their promotion examinations this year.
The Gwagwalada LEA scribe said the arrangement had been concluded to pay the newly recruited teachers of the LEA.
When asked on the infrastructural facilities in schools, Mamman Musa claimed that many dilapidated schools were renovated in the area.
