Taraba deserves another ministerial slot – APC chairman

The leadership of the Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stressed the need for the party at the center to reconsider the state for a ministerial appointment.
This, they said, has become necessary following the removal of the former Minister of Power, Engineer Saleh Mamman.
Mamman, who was the only Minister appointed from the state by President Muhammadu Buhari, was among the two cabinet members who were recently relieved of their appointments.
Making the appeal through the party’s state chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, the party believed the state being an “APC state” deserves “another ministerial slot.”
El-Sudi, who pointed out how the party in the state was able to give over 45 per cent votes to the President during the last presidential election, felt it would be unfair to leave the state without a Minister.
Enumerating reasons why the state still deserves an appointment, he urged the incumbent Minister of Power to give priority to the Mambilla Hydro Power Project.
“Something concrete has to be done in the execution of the hydropower project to convince Nigerians and people of Taraba State that the President is very serious and committed to the execution of the project,” he said.
El-Sudi, who refused to comment on the removal of the former minister, said what the Tarabans and Nigerians at large are interested in is to ensure the completion of the Mambilla Project which is located in the Mambilla Plateau of Sardauna local government council of the state.
