The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) held a 3- day training workshop for SUBEBs’ Directors of Finance, Heads of Internal Audit and UBE Account Desk Officers on Accounting ND Reporting Requirements for the FGN-UBE Intervention Funds.
The Executive Secretary of UBEC, Hamid Bobboyi, in his address explained that the workshop has been an important event for the Commission for interaction with stakeholders of basic education at the state level.
He noted that the importance of transparency and accountability in the discharge of collective duties on basic education service delivery cannot be over emphasized.
According to the UBEC boss, the commission in collaboration with the SUBEBs in 2019 finalised work on the then newly developed IPSAS Accounting Manual.
He stressed that the manual contains all Accounting functions, National Chart of Account and sample books of all accounts and financial records to be used by the Commission as well as the SUBEBs.
