Board Chairman of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, and immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur said the new board is set to return the NRC to its former glory of being the country’s highest employer of labour.
He remarked that the Nigerian Railway has already keyed into the transformation agenda of the present administration with the effective implementation of the new policies mapped out by the corporation’s board.
Tukur spoke in Lagos where the board adopted the report and recommendations of the corporation’s management on the issue of the Corporation’s Pension Fund.
The board also directed the management to implement the report and recommendations immediately.
Alhaji Tukur also announced that the Eastern Lines of the Nigerian Railway Corporation will soon commence full operations to serve the south-eastern states of the country.
