Bishop of the Methodist Church, Nigeria, Most Revd. Dr. Sunday Onuoha, has compared Nigeria to a large family, saying the people were bound to offend one another.
However, he said citizens must come to terms with the reality that the nation will only make progress, if the people would apologize and forgive one another.
Bishop Onuoha, who spoke against the backdrop of the recent calls by some Igbo leaders on President Muhammadu Buhari to release the detained leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, stated this at the annual Harvest Thanksgiving service by the Methodist Church Nigeria, Cathedral of Unity, Abuja, yesterday.
The theme of this year annaul Harvest Thanksgiving service is ‘God of All Possibilities’.
According to Bishop Onuoha, “We have several Christians and Muslims praying and asking God for His grace, so God does not abandon his people. There are challenges sometimes, and Nigeria is passing through her challenge. We passed through challenges in the sixties during the civil war, God saved us and God would save us again.”
