2015: Gaya declares ambition to contest for Kano governorship

The serving senator, representing Kano South Seantorial Zone, Arc. Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, has declared his ambition to contest for governoship election in 2015 under the flag of All Progressive Congress (APC).

Gaya, who made the disclosure during the commissioning of ICT centre at the secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council in Kano yesterday, stated that his ambition to contest for the governorship came as a result of his performance during his first tenure as the Kano State governor coupled with his performance as a serving senator.

” By God’s grace, I am today declaring for my ambition to contest for governorship election in 2015 in the APC political party.” He stated

The former Kano State governor has also reiterated his willingness to deliver good governance if elected as a governor in the state come 2015, adding that he would continue from what governor Kwnakwaso is doing now in the state.

” Everybody has seen our performance as governor in 1991 to 1993 as well as what we are delivering as senator, by God’s grace we will continue from what governor Kwankwaso is doing now in Kano. We have seen the advantage of “dawo-dawo”, means returning to power, from governor Kwankwaso, that is why I want to return to power to continue touching the lives of people.” He said.

The senator also highlighted some of his projects delivered in his senatorial zone as well as other place across the state, maintaining that he has virtually touched the lives of people of Kano state.

He stated that he has constructed three class rooms in all the 44 Local Governments of the state, solar boreholes, provided irrigation farming machines, among other projects such as hospitals and noodle-making machines, etc.
