The Secretary, FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS), Dr. Abubakar Tafida has called on Abuja residents to come out en masse to receive COVID-19 vaccine, in order to protect themselves from the virus.
Tafida made this call when the United State Agency for International Development (USAID) and it’s implementing partners paid him a courtesy visit.
He reiterated that the FCT Administration has done enough sensitization in ensuring that the residents make themselves available for the vaccine as well as ensuring all that is required for the smooth exercise is available.
He added that the FCT Administration will continue to partner with International Development partners such as USAID to help in bringing projects that has direct impact on the people of the territory.
He however, commended USAID support to FCT Secretariat in the area of revitalizing the FCT Health systems especially at the Primary Health Care Centres and vaccination programmes.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation, Peter Oshaji congratulated the Secretary for his appointment and charged him to continue with the good work he did when he served as the commissioner of health in Jigawa state.
He also disclosed that they are in the office to intimate the HHSS boss of the presence of USAID in FCT through its implementing partners: USAID Integrated Health Programme (IHP) Project TO7 of Palladium – Integrated RMNCAH+N service delivery and health systems.
