An Abuja-based media consultant Mr Cosmos Uzodima has charged the federal government, State, and Local Governments to push more funds into the cooperative society to make sure that Nigerians have access to finance to carry out their business.
He explained that a cooperative society is one dynamic means through which ordinary people can pull their resources together and participate in national development.
Uzodinma gave the charges at the 4th Annual General Meeting(AGM) of Saint Peter’s multipurpose Cooperative society (SPMPCS)with the theme “The roles of cooperative society in estate development, human capital, group life insurance and tackling insecurity, unemployment challenges in Nigeria”.
He noted that there is a housing deficit in the country and “I believe that cooperative society can work with the government and reduce the deficits, especially cooperative housing society.
He said with well funded cooperative society, civil servants have to access loans, and there should be enough public enlightenment on the power of the cooperative society because nobody is doing anything about it.
