Nyako’s memo: FG should investigate if… – Ango Abdullahi

Date:

From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

Chairman, Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Professor Ango Abdullahi has said Governor Nyako’s memo does not call for condemnation but rather investigations if truly the Federal Government does not have any hidden agenda on the allegations.

Ango Abdullahi said, “just condemning the Governor’s Memo without probing the allegations raised in the memo goes to show that the Federal Government probably has something to hide, if not they should come out and say the fact as they are”.

Speaking in an interview with the media in Kaduna, the NEF Chairman argued that, “to me, as a Governor of Adamawa State, Nyako in aposition to have some privilege information that could have made him to make such statement he made but rather than people addressing the serious allegation that the Governor has raised, they have resulted to abusing and condemning him. And this goes to show that maybe they have something to hide, if not they should come out and say the fact as they are.

“For a Governor like Nyako to come out to raise alarm, the mission is not one of condemnation or criticism, a serious issue is to investigate the allegations he has made. Not to abuse him or criticize him. Those who want to criticize him should come out with evidence against him. He cannot be dreaming,” he stated.

When asked on whether or not the allegations that some Northern elites are behind and sponsoring the Boko Haram insurgency is true, Professor Ango Abdullahi described it as absolute nonsense.
