The European Union in collaboration with British Council and ROLAC have organised a two-day capacity building training for fifty (50) magistrate court judges in Adamawa state.
Adamawa state Chief Judge, Justice Nathan Musa while delivering his welcome address said the training has became eminent with a view to addressing some teething challenges militating against the smooth justice delivering system in the state.
Justice Musa stated that the exercise will go a long way to updating and upgrading the knowledge of magistrates on how to implement administration of criminal justice law (ACJL) more especially on plea-bargain and non custodial sentencing.
He pledged to ensure full implementation of the recommendations reached during the training, assuring that he will work in harmony with the executive and the legislative arms of government for the success of the ACLJ in the state.
He added that his recent state tour of detention facilities has availed him full knowledge of the challenges and abnormalities in the administration of Justice procedures which informed the training and retraining of judges in the state.
