From: Femi  Oyelola, Kaduna

The  President of the United Church of  Christ, HEKAN, Rev  Amos Kiri has said  the prolong strike  by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)    if not settled soon might  contribute to the rise in criminal activities, because students that are used to spending time reading and doing other activities in school from morning to evening are now left idle at home and in the streets.

The  Clergy asserted this while speaking to the media at  the 56th Annual Convention 2022 of  the Church with theme” Prepare for Eternity” in  Kaduna yesterday.

According to him, the   over stay at home might not be too good in some communities, saying, “An idle man is a devil’s workshop.”

Therefore, he called  on ASUU and the Federal Government to fast track dialogue to end the lingering strike.
