Ramadan: Kano lawmaker shares N150m to traditional rulers, imams, others

As part of his annual intervention exercise, member representing Nassarawa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Nasiru Ali Ahmed has flagged up the release of the sum of N150 million in cash to be distributed to 10,000 traditional rulers, imams and other individuals in his constituency.

The grant disbursement for women and youths in Nassarawa federal constituency is facilitated by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) in collaboration with Microvis Microfinance Bank, held at the council Secretariat in Kano yesterday.

At the programme, the lawmaker explained that 11 district heads received the sum of N50,000 each, 122 ward heads to receive N20,000 each, while 129 Imams, their deputies and assistants would receive 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000 Naira each respectively.

According to him, 27 party leaders present would receive 50,000 each, 11 ward leaders 50,000 and 286 local party leaders each would receive the sum of 20,000 Naira.

Others are Civil Society Organisations (CSO’s), Community Based Organisations (CBO’s), orphanages, less privilege members of the communities among others will receive 10,000 Naira each.

Ahmed said the gesture was a palliative to the people in order to the beneficiaries in order to reduce soaring economic hardship on them.

He believes that rather than given anything at this critical period of inching Poverty amongst Nigerians, one should support People’s with Cash for them to reduce economic hardship facing them.

He said, “Nigeria is in a critical economic State, and only quick interventions amongst Citizens would douse thier disturbing minds from planning evils to becoming patriotic Citizens”.

“It would also serve as a means of fighting restlessness among Youths in must of our Communities today, and I promise to do more before the expiration of our tenure in office so that at the end local crimes of stealing GSM Phones which obtain leads to death, Thuggery and Burglary will be Curtail in the entire surface of my Constituency”.

The State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, expressed deep appreciation with the gesture of sharing Cash to Constitutes, insisting that it will go along way in helping Government.

He reminded anybody who is not loyal to the party Leadership under him and the Government of Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, that person should forget getting Tickets to go for any elections

Notable personalities present at the ceremonial event are the state All Progressive Congress (APC) party chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, Nassarawa local government council Chairman, Auwalu Lawan Shu’aibu Aronposu, Chief Imams of District mosques, traditional leaders among others.
