Presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Abubakar has urged his party delegates to put sentiment aside and  elect a Candidate that has the capacity to win the presidential election in 2023.

He appealed to the members particularly the delegates to put behind agitations over the zoning arrangement for presidency in party which had been jettisoned  by the national leadership.

He made the appeal during a consultative meeting with PDP delegates in Edo State on Friday in Benin City where he promised to “give every religious group in Nigeria a sense of belonging” if given the mandate in 2023 polls.

The former Vice President admitted that his party recognised zoning in its Constitution and he believes in it, ahead of PDP primary election coming up soon.

But he maintained that “we can’t begin to talk about power rotation or zoning when we have not taken over power”.
