The present legislator representing Abuja South Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Alhassan Usman Sokodabo on Sunday won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election conducted in Kuje.
Sokodabo who is a strong member of PDP polled 72 votes to defeat outgoing Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha Danze who scored 26 votes.
The lawmaker also defeated the former Chairman of Kwali, Hon. Ibrahim Daniel who has 22 votes.
Some of the residents who spoke to Peoples Daily correspondent after the primary election said they did not have the doubt for the lawmaker winning the election.
They said since the legislator was elected he had been pursuing policies and programs aimed at moving his constituency to the next level.
They commended the lawmaker for carrying out the people’s oriented projects across the constituency.
Meanwhile, Sokodabo left the venue of the election without speaking to newsmen after his victory.
