Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama continues to receive plaudits as he has been nominated for the best goalkeeper award in the French Ligue 1 after the UNFP announced the nominees.
Enyeama has been massive for his club OSC Lille, leading the team to their current third place position on the log, as well as keeping 21 clean sheets this season.
The awards, run by the Professional Union of French Players (UNFP), will be held on May 11, just a week before the French Championships winds up.
The 31-year-old former Enyimba goalkeeper was nominated alongside Steve Mandanda of Olympique Marseille, Salvatore Sirigu of leaders Paris Saint Germain and Stephane Ruffier of Saint-Ettiene.
He has also played 3 150 minutes of first-team football this season, conceding only 21 goals in 35 games — the second best in Ligue 1 behind Salvatore Sirigu of Paris Saint Germain.
Enyeama was also ever present in goal as Nigeria qualified for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
