A Non-governmental organization, Legacy Transformation Initiative (LTI) has expressed concerns over what it described as the financial inducement of delegates by aspirants of most political parties for primary elections.

Its also urged the All Progressives Congress delegates to vote for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the June 7th presidential primary.

The group who bared their minds during a media briefing in Abuja, said giving party tickets to the highest bidding aspirants is certainly a bad step in the wrong direction, that can only truncate the democratic process in Nigeria.

The National Coordinator of the LTI, Ibe Aniemeke Lawson, explained that one issue that has dominated discussions among Nigerians since the party primaries began is the financial inducement of delegates to choose their party flag bearers for the 2023 general elections.

He said money politics is capable of destroying the foundation of the country’s democratic process.

He however appealed on behalf of other numerous patriots to adopt and vote for Prof Yemi Osinbajo, “whom we have by our earlier press statement characterized from our studies as the most suitable and capable of the rest of the qualified aspirants on the APC primary election ballot.

“We are afraid to note that if the APC fails to seize this moment nor neglects to react to the PDP’s primary election debacle and the reputation it has infamously earned by doing something different, Nigerians may continue in the erroneous classification that all the parties are only different between six and half a dozen.
