The Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri, has said that the immediate past Chairman of the Area Council, Adamu Mustapha Danze wasted resources on frivolities and left empty treasury for the new administration.
Jibrin Giri who spoke to newsmen at Giri community, confirmed that it was true that he inherited an empty treasury.
According to the new Chairman, “The situation is pathetic. It would have been surprising if we had met some money but we would continue from where the past administration stopped.
“So far, we have been trying to put many things which went wrong or bad in order to return discipline in the Council. Remember that we took over barely four weeks ago and we met many things in the administration of the Council that is not meant for public consumption.
“Although, I will ensure that we are working to correct those things. We have three or four years to go and by the grace of God, the Council will soon pick up again and start delivering services to the people”.
Giri, therefore, pleaded with Muslims and Christian to continue to live in peace with one another, while urging them to join hands with the government to curb the security challenges Facing the country.
In the same vein, the Gwagwalada Chairman had paid sallah homage to Aguma of Gwagwalada, Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji and Agora of Zuba, Alhaji Muhammed Bello Umar.
Both Aguma of Gwagwalada and Agora of Zuba thanked the Chairman for the visit.
