General Muhammadu Buhari loses father in-law

BuhariThe death has been announced of Alhaji Halilu Ahmed Chiroma.

Aged 81, the late octogenarian died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday night, in his Yola residence.

A press statement signed by Modi Halilu Ahmed said the deceased has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

The statement also stated that the deceased is survived by his wife,24 children and 44 grand children. Among children are Chubadu Halilu, of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kaduna ,Ahmad Halilu, of Zenith Bank, Mahmud Halilu and A’isha Halilu Buhari, wife of former Head of state General Muhammadu Buhari.

Among the early callers to the residence of the late community leader to pay their condolences were Governor Murtala Nyako, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Alhaji Isma’ila Isa Funtua and a host of others.

At hand to receive them was Buhari. Meanwhile, more condolence messages are pouring in from across the country.
