Foundation urges govt to ensure security of lives

Date:

The Founder, the Albino Foundation (TAF), Mr Jake Epelle, has called on governments at all levels to ensure the security of lives and property to ensure the stability of the country.

Epelle told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that due to the recent Nyanya bomb blast, the second in two weeks, the citizens had become endangered species.

“So, if the country is threatened by the security situation, then we are also threatened.

“We need a stabilised society to start fighting discrimination and all that.

“I think it is also important to mention that the security operatives should become more proactive than reactive because what we are seeing today is a reactive security measure.”

“Once something happens, everybody will run, try and do something. Why do we not ensure that these things don’t happen.’’

He observed that visible security measure was erected as soon as the Nyanya first bomb blast happened.

“I am sure they relaxed that is why we saw what has happened yesterday.

“I condemn the act and encourage the government to do whatever they can to stop violence.

“We are also concerned about the girls that have not be released; government should deploy every available resource to ensure that those girls come home,” Epelle said. (NAN)
