The year 2022 could be regarded as a “revolutionary year” for Nigeria’s Queen of Hurdles, Tobi Amusan who said that people didn’t believe in her after a spectacular year of glory as she embarks on vacation with the conclusion of the Diamond League where she raked dollars.

The 25-year-old took the world by storm winning a record-breaking World Athletics Championship in May before extending same record in the Commonwealth Games where she defended her medal she won in previously at the Birmingham edition in England setting a new record in the process.

Amusan also consolidated the feat at the 2022  Wanda Diamond League season at Weltklasse Zurich, where she amassed 30,000 US Dollars for her heroics and the Nigerian says she has been able to prove people who did not believe in her wrong.

She capped a sensational season by adding the Diamond Trophy to her ever-expanding prize cabinet, beating a highly competitive field in a thrilling 100m hurdles final.

The Africa record holder set a12.12 in the semi-final at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon USA where she made history as the first Nigerian to win Good at the World Championship.

This time it was a meeting record that fell, Amusan running 12.29 to take a tenth of a second off the mark that had been set by USA’s multiple Olympic and world gold medalist Gail Devers in 2000.

“Everyone has doubted me. I just had to prove myself that I have got it,” said Amusan, who also won the African title this year.
