Niger State House of Assembly has impeached its principal officers following a matter of urgent public importance raised by member representing Edati Constituency Salihu Muhammad Tama and was adopted through a unanimous vote by the lawmakers.
Those principal officers impeached are Majority Leader Sale Ibrahim representing Kontagora Constituency, Deputy Majority leader Binta Maman representing Gurara constituency and its Chief Whip Idris Musa Vatsa representing Lapai Constituency.
Tama explained that the reason for there impeachment was as a result of incompetence in discharging their legislative duties.
The legislators nominated Muhammed Abba Bala, member representing Borgu Constituency as the majority leader, and Malik Madaki Bosso representing Bosso Constituency as the Deputy Majority leader.
