The Kebbi State Contrroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Mrs. Rabi Bashir Nuhu has handed over a thirteen (13) years old girl Temitope Marvellous to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Briefing newsmen shortly after the handing over, the State Contrroller said that, the girl was rescued when intercepted at Koko border post by Immigration personnel of the border patrol team in a commercial bus coming from Ogun state to Sokoto, through Kebbi state.
She said after the interogation, they discovered that, the victim was a thirteen year old girl.
“All the contacts they gave us were for someone in Libya which made the officers to have the believe that this girl was being trafficked”.
She further emphasis that the girl claimed that, she is going to Libya as a house help, which is not true but suspected to be used into prostitution or for organ harvesting”.
