APC beset with multiple court cases in Abia – Party guber candidate, Emenike

The governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State, Ikechi Emenike, yesterday raised the alarm over numerous Court cases against the party in Abia, even as he said this was due to potentials and viability of APC in the 2023 governorship election in the State.

Speaking with journàlists after a meeting with the National chairman of APC, Abdullahi Adamu, at the party’s National Secretariat, Emenike however assured that despite the legal challenges, APC will defeat opposition parties in the forthcoming general election in the State.

He said he was in the party secretariat to show solidarity with the chairman, and to commend him for his fatherly role he has played in the management of the party and resolving the disagreement within the ranks of the party.

He said “Well, the chairman has said it. We’re here. Not to disagree, but to give honor to whom honor is due.

“To commend our leader, the national chairman for his leadership. It is probably one that has brought the kind of cohesion and peace we enjoy and we want to thank him. Also to show solidarity for his leadership. We pledge that we will show him our certificate of return of victory.”

He also said APC has upper hand in the State given that the ruling party has performed woefully in the past seven years and half, which he said has already given them 40% of the votes in Abia State before the election.

According to him, “What I want to assure you is that through his performance, he has done almost 40% of the compaig and what we are doing is just trying to harvest most of the grounds and cover all the loopholes and work towards that.

“I know a lot of people are still doubtful, depending on the line of propaganda and information. Please before you say anything about the APC, visit your state, go to the polling booth on the wards and find out the status of today’s APC and others whether we’re ready for victory or not.

“We are here primarily to assure our leader, our national chairman, that APC is intact and we are ready to deliver the party.”

In his remarks, the chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu appreciated the delegation that visited the party, saying they have earlier came for reconciliation, but have returned to thank the party over the efforts the National Working Committee (NWC) have made in stabilising APC in Abia.

“All I can tell you is that the delegation led by very eminent members today, they are not coming here for reconciliation, they came to thank the party for the efforts we made in the state”, Adamu said.

Those who were in the delegation with the Abia APC candidate, Ikechi Emenike were: deputy governorship candidate, Barr. Gloria Akara, Abia APC Chairman, Dr KC Ononugbu; APC Welfare Officer, among others.
