Expert harps on promoting issues affecting women in media space

The Managing Director of Women Radio, Toun Sonaiya, has advocated  more promotion of issues affecting women in media space, saying 50 percent of media content should be dedicated for this cause.

Sonaiya made the call at a two day media training for political reporters organised by Women Radio with support from UN Women, on yesterday in Kaduna.

She said it was important for the media to promote women in politics and leadership positions so as to encourage gender balance and equality.

“The media needs to give equal opportunity to women as it is given to men in terms publicity and also to allow them showcase their talents”.
