Binani vs Ribadu: Appeal court reserves judgement over APC Guber-primary in Adamawa

The court of Appeal in Yola has reserved judgement in an appeal case filed by the embattled Adamawa state All Progressives Congress (PDP), candidate,Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani praying the court to restore her mandate as the gubernatorial candidate of the party.

Making the disclosure in Yola Monday pre-election panel presided over by Justices Teni Yusuf Hassan, M.O Bolaji and James Abundaga after adoption of the brief by the counsels of Binani, Ribadu, PDP and INEC reserved a date for judgement to be communicated at a later date.

Recalled that federal high court presided by Justice Abdulaziz Anka in October declared the gubernatorial primaries of APC null and void over substantial non compliance with electoral rules”.

At the yesterday’s plenary, leader of Binani’s counsel, Chief Akin Olujimi SAN who led six other SANs and 12 lawyers in a triple appeal, urged the apellate court to overturn the judgment of the federal high court Yola.

Olujimi also prayed the court to determine all pre election matters to declare Senator Aishatu Binani as the duly elected candidate of the APC.
