Human Right Lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has faulted President Goodluck Jonathan as not been fair to the parents of over 200 young female students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno state, saying the president have not taken the necessary steps in rescuing the children.

Falana Make this known while speaking at the public presentation of a book, titled: “Before We Forget: Obasanjo Letter to President Jonathan and the Aftermath” yesterday in Lagos.

He said “President Goodluck Jonathan claimed ignorance of the whereabouts of the abducted children. He also accused their parents of not co-operating with them.

While lamenting, the lawyer-cum-activist made it known that it is wrong for member of the public to have identify the abducted girls.

“The identification of the children should not be made public, in order for them not be stigmatised at the nearest future. We pray that the children be released and we don’t want them to be stigmatised.”

Falana urged the president to make sure the girls are returned safely back to their parents instead of dancing all over Nigeria in the name of peace rally.

Speaking earlier, the Director, Peace and Development Projects (PEDEP), Mr. Francis Abayomi condemned the abduction of the girls, saying the collective burden Nigerians carries now is a direct consequence of the ruling elites.

He said “It is a great concern this event is at a time the country is in deep, harrowing pain of horrendous violence. A sad metaphor for the consequences of leadership deficit that have prevailed in the politics and governance of our dear country over the years.

“As the call to bring-back-our-girls resonates across the globe, we must bear in mind that the collective burden we carry at this time is the direct consequence of the deceit, hypocrisy and avoidable failure that have characterised the present leadership.
