Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Faruk Yahaya has identified training as a key component through which new skills and competencies are acquired to deal with adversaries.

He stated this at the annual EXERCISE VULCAN GLOW VIII organised by Artillery corps held at Kachia in Kaduna State.

Lt General Faruk Yahaya explained that trainings have assisted the Army in successes recorded in various operations in synergy with sister security agencies.

He maintained that the Army had heightened up trainings to improve on its operations as well as deploy more appropriate skills at all times against adversaries.

The Army Chief disclosed that more platforms would be deployed to various theatres of operations with a view to maintaining the peace and security of the country.

Lt General Yahaya expressed Army’s resolve to deal decisively with criminal elements terrorizing the peace of the country.

The Chief of Army Staff re-iterated the determination of the Army towards providing an enabling environment for the peaceful conduct of next year’s general elections.

Earlier, Artillery corps Commander, Major General Tari-Timiye Gagariga explained that Exercise Vulcan Glow is being conducted with the aim of rekindling the old tradition where formations move guns and associated equipment from rear home establishment to designated military training areas to conduct a variety of artillery manoeuvres.

He maintained that the exercise emphasizes  collaboration with all stakeholders in local repair efforts of equipment.
