PDP vows to win elections first time in Zamfara -Elders’ c’ttee

The Zamfara State Secretary of the elders committee of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Ibrahim Agigi disclosed that the party has for the time in history get prepared to uproot the tradition of voting APC into power in favour of the PDP.

Engr. Agigi who made this known today (Wednesday) during press conference in Gusau the state capital, said the PDP had never form a government in the state since 1999 to date due to the voters’ belief that only APC can save and move the state forward. 

He stressed that there are indisputable evidences to prove that citizens of Zamfara are fed up with usually poor performance of the APC, particularly the failure to check the lingering abject poverty that always compelling groups of families to beg for their survival.

The secretary stressed that the PDP campaign project as a peace movement, will continue to contain all forms of intimidations, killings and imprisonment of its members by the APC ruling party “just as citizens of the state are helplessly watching”, he laments.

“We will maintain our focus no matter the amount of aggression”, explaining further that PDP is strongly committed to the project of salvaging the state from the prevailing administrative miscarriage.

Meanwhile he said, the party has set up a sixty-seven(67) member elders committee to serve as advisory body to guide the party in the hope of readdressing the economy of the state on a right development focus as well as working out strategies for the poll victory of the party.

Agigi disclosed that members of the elders committee include among others, all former presidents of Zamfara state extraction if any, all former governors of the state, senators, Reps members, ministers and  personalities  who held prominent state or national position.
