2 persons charged with stealing drums belonging to Ogboni confraternity

The Police in Ado-Ekiti, on Wednesday, arraigned two persons, Sunday Adeleke, 50 and Olamide Olabode, 45 in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court charged with stealing drums belonging to Ogboni confraternity.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Caleb Leranmo, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 27, at Orin Odo village in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

He said the stolen three drums belonged to Ogboni confraternity in Orin Odo community.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti state, 2012.

The accused pleaded not guilty while their counsel, Mr. Busayo Sule, prayed the court to grant bail to his clients, with a promise that they would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Ropo Adegboye granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety each in like sum and adjourned the case to May 19 for further hearing. (NAN)
