Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has expressed his administration’s commitment toward the upliftment of children especially the vulnerable ones in the state.
The Governor affirmed this while addressing over 650 participants during the closing ceremony of Training Youth facilitators for “At Risk Children Programme” held at the Special School in Lafia the state capital.
Governor Sule who was represented by the state commissioner for Women affairs and social development , Hajiya Aisha Ruffai Ibrahim opined that the state government has taken into cognisance the importance of children which necessitated the governore to sign an executive order to facilitate the implementation of child right law last year in order to protect children from all forms of violence.
Governor Sule said, “This gesture by the state government would continue to guarantee good health, education, security and adequate protection of our children especially the vulnerable ones in the society. It is imperative that children are the future generation”
Also speaking , the special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on social investment Mrs Maryam Uwais who is also the National co ordinator of “At Risk Children Programme” charged participants to make judicious use of the knowledge gained in order to impact it to the children.
