The Labour Party has rejected the results of the 2023 presidential candidate.
The LP was among the nine political parties that worked out of the INEC’s National Collation Centre on Monday, accusing the electoral umpire of malpractice
Speaking to the press after the walked out led by Dino Melaye, the Collation Officer of the party who doubles as the LP’s national secretary, Umaru Ibrahim Farouk said the electoral umpire has failed Nigerians for failing to make use of the BVAS and for transmitting results manually, abandoning the electrical transmission as approved by the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended.).
“We have aired our observations to the Chairman of INEC and he has refused to listen to us.
“They want us to receive and accept the doctored results that came from collation centres across the states and we have empirical evidence from our agents who have informed us reliably that the BVAS machines has not been used and where they have been used, the results were not uploaded in the INEC porter.
“Around 2pm on Saturday, the INEC server was down and they acknowledged this and apologised. I’m accusing INEC of not listening to millions of Nigerians and killing the promise they made to Nigerians.
“It’s not about favouring the Labour Party, it’s about if the system has been consistent, reliable and truthfully been used.”
