Court remands 2 for stealing 2 motorcycles

An Upper Area court sitting in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has remanded two motorcyclists in prison custody for allegedly stealing two motorcycles.

Abubakar Sadiq, 20, and Saidu Mohammed, 25, both of Old Kutunku in Gwagwalada, were arraigned on a two-count charge of joint act and theft.

The judge, Alhaji Alhassan Kusheri, gave the order for their remand after they both pleaded not guilty to the offences.

Kusherki adjourned the matter until June 25 for further mention.

The prosecutor, Insp Martha Paul, had told the court that sometimes in March, the accused persons jointly stole two motorcycles valued at N230,000.

Paul said that the motorcycles belonged to Jibrin Abdullahi and Abdullahi Abdullahi of the same address.

The prosecutor, however, said that one of the motorcycles was recovered from the accused on May 6.

She said that the offence contravened the Penal code. (NAN)
