Kaduna State, Deputy Governor-Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe has empowered one thousand and twenty women from the 255 political wards of the state.
Speaking at the Women Engagement and Empowerment Programme (WEEP) that took place at the Yar’adu Hall of Mohammed Murtala Square yesterday, Dr Hadiza said she was motivated to donate the items in order to empower women who are actively involved in politics to enable them gain financial freedom and make them self reliant.
She urged them not to sell the items but put them to use to support themselves and their families.
Among the beneficiaries are women with disabilities who were given deep freezers each.
