From Yakubu Mustapha Minna
The state Commissioner of Finance Alhaji Usman Mohammed Tinau has reiterated the commitment of the Niger state government in ensuring payment of civil servants salaries despite short falls experienced from the statutory federation account.
Alhaji Usman Tinau made this known in an exclusive interview with our Reporter in Minna, assuring to commence payment of March salaries this week and appealed to workers to exercise patience.
He maintained that the FAAC to the State has continued to dwindled for the past four months, hence the federal allocation were been complimentary to enhance payment of salaries in the state.
Reacting to the alleged frozen of the state government accounts by a High Court sitting in Minna following a case instituted against it by some contractors, the Commissioner said only Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) account is sustaining it.
