2023 Hajj: Board declares April 21 deadline for FCT intending Pilgrims gets to balance payment

The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT-MPWB) has disclosed that intending Pilgrims who have made deposit for the forthcoming 2023 Hajj have till Friday 21st April to complete their payment of Hajj fare, as announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) of N2,919,000.00 only.
FCT-MPWB explained that the deadline was to enable the board meet up with the deadline set by NAHCON to all states and FCT in respect of payment of Hajj fare for this year.
In a statement by its Public Relationship Officer (PRO), Muhammad Lawal Aliyu, the board added that the payment of the balance by respective Intending Pilgrims would enable the Board establish its prospective master list for the trip considering the time frame for the airlift of the Intending Pilgrims to the holy land.
Also, the board disclosed that balancing the required amount would also enable the Board continue with other travelling arrangements as well as meet up with the deadline for the balance of payment to the NAHCON.
The spokesperson also emphasized that only Intending Pilgrims who made the complete payment of two Million, nine hundred and nineteen thousand naira by the deadline would be registered in the master list of the Board for this year’s hajj exercise.
He added that intending Pilgrims upon completion of their payment would be given the chance to choose the flight they want to join during the airlift to Saudi Arabia on first-come-first-served basis.
He also disclosed that the activities for this year’s hajj exercise would continue on Saturday 29th April and Sunday 30th April 2023 with second phase of the education and Orientation exercise at the Permanent Hajj Transit camp, Bassan Jiwa near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.
