Former President of Ghana, Mr. John Kuffor has joined the call for the release of about 200 students of Government Girls Secondary School Chibok abducted on April 14 by Boko Haram insurgents.

Kuffor stated this when he led members of Nigerian Institute of Animal Sciences on a courtesy call to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

Mr. Kuffor noted that, “if there are any issue to be settled, it should be settled among the elders. The youths should be left out”.

He equally expressed shock over the abduction of the girls saying that, “everybody looks up to Nigeria and (this abduction) its generate nervousness among us”.

While calling for dialogue he said that, “there is no matter that cannot be settle through dialogue”.

Responding, Tambuwal said the Federal government is not sleeping over the abduction of the girls, saying that, the government would do all its best in ensuring that the girls are rescue and return to their parents safely.

The Speaker thanked the foreign countries that have extended their support for Nigeria, saying that, “We are very much concern as a government. We will do our maximum best and ensure that the girls return to their parents safely. The government is not sleeping”.
