Following the abduction of the school girls at Government GirlsSecondary School Chibok, in Borno state, Gombe state governor, AlhajiIbrahim Hassan Dankwambo has called on the Boko Haram sect to considerthe plea and release the abducted girls.
Governor Dankwambo made the plea in Gombe, at the weekend, at thelaunching of ‘TALBA neighbor-to-neighbor’ empowerment scheme,held at the Pantami stadium.
The governor also urged the insurgents to consider dialogue with thegovernment in order to have a peaceful environment, adding thatwithout peace there would be no meaningful development in the country.
He said there need for Nigerians to shun differences and embrace one another, to enable the nation forge ahead, stressing that the abduction of the Chibok school girls did not only affects Nigeria but equally affected the entire world.
Among government functionaries that graced the occasion were the
Minister of transport, members of Senate and House of Reps., PDP party stalwarts, Emirs and Chiefs among others.
