Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been elected the President of the Senate of the 10th National Assembly.
Senator Akpabio emerged the President of the Senate after defeating Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
Akpabio polled 63 votes, while Yari scored 46 votes.
The representative of Akwa Ibom North Senatorial District emerged as the leader of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Akpabio was a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
