Kaduna State Permanent Secretary Budget and Planning Commission Mallam Mohammed Bashir said Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) are to checkmate government and create awareness to the public as well.
He stated this at the Validectory Session for the Open Government Partnership outgoing Steering Committee in Kaduna.
Mallam Bashir added that the collaboration between the state Government and CSOs has been effective and successful and the plans and budgets involved major necessary stakeholders.
He appreciated the contributions of the stakeholders for the successful partnership in budget processing planning Monitoring and Evaluation.
According to him the state government has been committed to Citizens engagement in governance through strict adherence to the Open Government Partnership initiated since 2018.
Mallam Bashir explained that any government that wants succeed must collaborate with relevant Civil Society Organizations and other stakeholders to help achieve set goals and objectives in governance.
He appreciated the contributions of the stakeholders for the successful partnership in budget processing planning Monitoring and Evaluation.
“The ministry is very grateful for the contributions we got from the partnership We will continue to operate an open door policy for a more robust relationship for effective service delivery, We wouldn’t have achieved so much without you”
In an opening remark, the Co-Chair, Open Government Partnership Hadiza Umar Co chair OGP Hajiya Hadiza Umar appreciated the partners and media for their commitments that led to the successes achieved.
She explained that the Open Government Partnership works with government in the areas of Planning, Budget Processes, Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation and called on the upcoming steering committee to improve on what has been achieved in the partnership..
The OGP started in 2018 in the state with two years tenure for each leadership.
