
The National commission for the coordination and control of the proliferation of small arms, ammunition and light weapons (NATCOM) has suspended its director of special duties Otumba Adejare Nurudeen Adegbenro indefinitely.
This is as the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) declared him wanted over alleged criminal breach of trust, amongst other offenses and financial misconduct.
His dismissal was announced in a statement signed by the commission through its media Office and made available to journalists,in Abuja on Friday.
According to the statement,the anti-graft agency disclosed that Adegbenro is wanted for obtaining money under false pretense, criminal breach of trust and issuance of Dud Cheque.
The statement read in part: “Consequently, NATCOM, hereby dissociates itself from Otumba Adejare Nurudeen Adegbenro and also hereby suspends him from office indefinitely pending the outcome of an independent committee of inquiry as may be set up by the commission.
“NATCOM is a law abiding organization with zero tolerance for criminal conduct of all sorts and that posture it will continue to uphold.”
