The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Jigawa state Command has seized 999.335 kgs of Narcotic and Psychotropic substance within one year.
The command also succeeded in the arrest of 422 suspects in which 409 are male and the remaining 13 are females in the same year of 2023.
This was announced by the State commandant Mr Muazu Aliyu Dan Musa while briefing news men at the state headquarters in Dutse on Thursday.
The commandant who described this year’s theme as “People First Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention against the drug addicts”, urged the general public to cooperate with NDLEA for better society.
According to him, 94 drug addicts were convicted in the state, while 186 suspects were counselled as well as 15 client were rehabilitated.
“Four clients are presently undergoing rehabilitation in our centre here in Dutse.
“The command also embarked on War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) and sensitization campaign at the motor parks, schools, tertiary institutions across the state”, the Commandant concluded.
