Southern Kaduna IDPs fume over NGO’s N20M bounced cheque

From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

The Representatives of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Southern Kaduna, has expressed dismay over alleged false promises, exploitation and issuance of a bounced cheque of N20 million by an NGO, ‘Hope For Nigeria’, and called on the relevant authorities to intervene.
In a statement issued in Kaduna, which was signed by one Mrs. Alice Emmanuel on behalf of “Committee for Identification and Verification of Claims by Displaced Victims of Attacks in Southern Kaduna inaugurated by Hope Nigeria”, the IDPs alleged that they were made to sell forms to poor displaced farmers under the guise of securing skill acquisition but no training was done and the monies were not refunded.
However, as at the time of going to press, all efforts through text and calls to the CEO of the NGO, Kerry, Ken Sholaye to react to the allegations were not successful as he failed to either pick the calls or reply text messages sent to him.
