Gen Umo to deliver good governance lecture in Lagos

Former Commander of Signal Corps, Nigeria Army and immediate past Nigeria’s Envoy to the Vatican, General Godwin George UMO, is scheduled to deliver a lecture at the forthcoming Leadtimes Africa Magazine’s summit on good governance in Leadership.
The event will hold at the University of Lagos later this month, according to a statement by Professor Buba Mshelia, Advisory Board Chairman of Leadtimes Africa magazine.
“This lecture will precede the honorary doctorate award conferment ceremony of both the Triune Biblical University Global Extension New York USA and Prowess University, Delaware USA:, the statement said.
The wife of Governor of Kwara state and founder of Ajike People Support Centre, Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq, is among the eminent dignitaries that will attend this year’s edition billed to hold at the University of Lagos.
Professor Buba S. Mshelia, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Leadtimes Africa Magazine who signed the statement stressed that the Kwara State First Lady will be honoured by the magazine as Leadtimes Africa First Lady of the Year Award for Innovation in Strategic Leadership & Governance.
According to Professor Mshelia, “Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq, First Lady of Kwara State and Founder of Ajike People Support Centre has introduced strategic innovation in governance as she makes life more meaningful for the most vulnerable, less privileged, the elderly, widows, orphans, the girl-child and many more through her NGO- Ajike People Support Centre that has impacted positively on the lives of the downtrodden including her women Empowerment initiatives across Kwara State in the last four years of the administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
“This award will encourage the Kwara state First Lady to continue to do more for the good people of Kwara state in this second tenure of her husband. At the ceremony, the Kwara State First Lady will serve as Guest of honor.”
Professor Mshelia noted that this year’s summit will attract participants from Nigeria and abroad cutting across different professional callings.
At the occasion, General Godwin George Umo, former Commander of Signal Corps, Nigerian Army and the immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to the Holy See will serve as the guest speaker, the statement said.
At the end of the summit session, the statement adde, few outstanding personalities in different leadership positions will be honored with doctoral degree by Triune Biblical University Global Extension New York,USA and Prowess University, Delaware, USA.
“Selection of nominees for the honorary doctorate degrees by the two US-based institutions were based principally on the past and present feats attained by these individuals,” the university don further stressed in the statement.
“All nominees were thoroughly investigated through our researchers and their resumes well verified; and we further aggregated the various recommendations made on them by their constituents, the media, opinion moulders and other stakeholders in the leadership cycle.These were the parameters used for nomination.
“Other basis for the nomination are the impacts they have made on the people of their local communities as well as the overall aggregates of their integrity, transparency and accountability in their various leadership positions”, the statement further added.
The statement noted that Professor Eze Nwauba.who is the African Representative of Prowess University and the Registrar/CEO of the Institute of Arts Management & Professional Studies (IAMPS) along with Professor Adeleke Daniel Durojaiye, President of Triune Biblical University Extension, New York, USA as well as Leadtimes Africa Magazine will be the hosts of the event.
Other guests expected at this ceremony, according to the statement, are Professor Gerald Ndubuisi Okeke and Dr Mrs Olajide Oluwafunmilola, representatives of Triune Biblical University Extension, New York; Dr Isaac Chukwu Ndupuechi, and the Managing Director and CEO of PIE Management Technology and Educational Consultancy.
