Human rights activist Deji Adeyanju has explained why President Bola Tinubu would keep defeating other presidential candidates like Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).
“If another election is conducted tomorrow with the opposition divided, Tinubu will win again by over 2 million votes,” he tweeted.
Taunting supporters of both Atiku and Obi, the social affairs commentator said: “Cry from now till 2027, Tinubu will be president and will flog your Atiku and Obi again if they don’t unite to defeat criminal APC.”
Recall that Atiku and Obi were both members of the PDP, the platform on which they jointly contested the 2019 presidential election.
In the build-up to the 2023 presidential poll, Obi, who was a PDP aspirant, left the party for the Labour Party.
With the two gladiators on the ballot, the votes of the opposition were divided, and this gave Tinubu the lead.
At the moment, the two parties have dragged Tinubu before the tribunal, seeking redress over an election they said was allegedly rigged in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
