One year in office: Abaji Chairman lists achievements

The Executive Chairman of Abaji Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, has enumerated some projects being carried out in Abaji and its environs as he celebrated one year in office on Saturday.
Some of the projects executed by the Chairman are renovation of legislative chamber, furnishing of legislative chamber, renovation of vice-chairman office, drilling of solar Boreholes at Abaji police command, purchase of 250KVA Generator for council secretariat, maintenance of Abaji township road junctions, grading of Pandagi-Nanda –Pandagi – Gbako road, grading Naharati Tsoho Tupa and rehabilitation / Maintenance of existing surface, dressing Asphalt overlay of Gbakya-low cost road.
Other projects executed by the Chairman include construction of drainage and culvert at township south east cementary, purchase and installation of transformer at Yaba community, drilling / reticulation of water scheme at Nuku community, furnishing of Gawu police station, maintenance of electricity main along Lokoja-Abuja road to Abaji General Hospital, maintenance of Electricity main along Agyana road, lighting up of communities with all-in-one solar street light with hydrid Lumen and 60 watts led light across the ten political wards of Abaji Area Council, purchasing of Engine Boats for two different communities in Abaji Area Council and drilling of Boreholes at Gbakya communities.
While reading his speech at the occasion, the Chairman said his administration had done a lot in the healthcare delivery to the residents of Abaji, adding that his leadership had empowered a lot of women in the area.
On Agriculture, he pointed out that his administration had provided fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals to farmers, as he added that in education sector he had provided modern chairs and tables for school pupils for easy learning as well as purchased school wears/textbooks for pupils.
The Abaji Council’s Chairman, however, said he would continue to execute developmental projects in the area and thanked the people who graced the occasion.
Speaking earlier, the Council secretary, Hon. Abdulrahman Ndagi, commended the Chairman for the projects being executed so far, pointing out that staff salaries are being paid promptly.
Ndagi, therefore, called on the residents of Abaji Area Council to continue to support the administration of the Chairman in order to actualize his dreams.
On their goodwill messages, the former Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Hon. Yahaya Mohammed and Hajiya Farida among other speakers hailed the Chairman for the projects put in place within one year in the area.
In his remark, the Ona of Abaji, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Adamu Baba Yunusa, appealed to the Chairman to provide employment for the less privileged ones in Abaji.
Meanwhile, during the one year celebration about 150 people were decamped from different political parties to the ruling party APC.
